We provide our clients with Auto, Home, and Life Insurance to help protect both their current assets and their future. We are locally owned and operated in Amarillo and have proudly served our community for more than a decade. Compensation
This position offers a base pay plus commission, allowing you to earn while you train and develop your skills. Our compensation programs are among the most competitive in the industry, with clear opportunities for advancement and long-term growth. There is no cap on earning potential. Starting pay ranges from $15 to $18 per hour plus commission, based on experience and licensing status.

Is this a commission-only position?
No. This role offers a base pay plus commission structure, allowing you to earn a steady paycheck while also enjoying uncapped income potential through commissions. In addition, we offer bonuses and incentive prizes for meeting goals and performance objectives throughout the year.

Do I need sales experience for this role?
No. We provide comprehensive training from the ground up. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will interact with clients both by phone and in person. While sales experience is beneficial, candidates with customer service backgrounds often excel once trained.

Do I need to purchase leads or pay for marketing?
No. All leads and marketing are fully provided by the agency at no cost to you. We also supply office space, equipment, and on-site technical support when needed. There are no out-of-pocket expenses associated with performing your job. Your focus should be on learning, showing up, and doing the work.

What kind of training is provided?
We make a significant investment in training and development for every team member. You will begin with instruction at our local District office to learn industry-leading systems and strategies. From there, you will receive hands-on training in our office through shadowing and real-world application. Our team will support you throughout the process to ensure you gain confidence, skill, and long-term success in the role.

A Day in the Life of a Producer at Laird Insurance Agency

8:30 AM – Start the Day Strong
The day kicks off with coffee, a quick review of the day’s schedule, and checking Agency Zoom for leads, follow-ups, and policy updates. Producers set priorities and get focused on writing quality business.

9:00 AM – Client Outreach & Follow-Ups
Mornings are prime time for connecting with clients. Whether it’s calling new leads, following up on quotes, or checking in with existing clients, the focus is always on education, trust, and long-term relationships. This is where producers shine: reviewing coverage, explaining options clearly, and helping clients make confident decisions. Every policy is written with longevity in mind, not quick wins.

12:30 PM – Lunch & Team Reset

1:30 PM – Applications & Underwriting Follow-Up, Client Check-Ins & Service Support
Afternoons focus on submitting applications, gathering needed info, and following up with underwriting to ensure clean, quality business gets issued smoothly. Producers touch base with current clients, assist with updates, and help solve problems before they become issues—this is where retention is built.

4:45 PM – Prep for Tomorrow
The day wraps up with organizing tomorrow’s calls, updating notes, and celebrating wins. Every producer leaves knowing exactly what tomorrow holds.

5:30 PM – Day Complete
Another productive day of helping clients protect what matters most.
